Halocho #2246 - Shabbat Shekalim

This week is שַׁבָּת פָּרָשַׁת שְׁקָלִים and 2 Torah Scrolls are taken out.

After the regular Torah Reading - Parshat וַיַּקְהֵל  - we read the beginning of Parshat כִּי תִשָּׂא in the second Sefer Torah as Maftir.

We then read the Haftarah for Shabbat Shekalim from Melachim-I 7:40 - וַיַּעַשׂ חִירוֹם.

This is in memory of the half-shekel that everybody donated yearly to finance the daily sacrifices in the Bet Hamikdash, may we merit to see it rebuilt, speedily in our days.

Shabbat is also Shabbat Mevarchim of the upcoming month of Adar-II. Rosh Chodesh Adar-II will be on Thursday and Friday.

שַׁבָּת שֶׁלִּפְנֵי רֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר הַסָּמוּךְ לְנִיסָן, הִיא שַׁבָּת פָּרָשַׁת שְׁקָלִים

 וְאִם חָל רֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ בַּשַׁבָּת, אֲזַי הִיא שַׁבָּת שְׁקָלִים. וּמוֹצִיאִין שְׁלֹשָׁה סִפְרֵי תוֹרָה, בָּרִאשׁוֹן קוֹרִין שִׁשָּׁה בְּפָרָשַׁת הַשָּׁבוּעַ. בַּשֵּׁנִי, קוֹרִין לַשְׁבִיעִי בְּשֶׁל רֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ, וּמַתְחִילִין וּבְיוֹם הַשַׁבָּת, וְאוֹמְרִים חֲצִי קַדִּישׁ

וּבַשְּׁלִישִׁי, קוֹרִין מַפְטִיר בְּפָרָשַׁת שְׁקָלִים, וּמַפְטִירִין הַפְטָרַת שְׁקָלִים

אִם טָעוּ וְהִתְחִילוּ לִקְרוֹת תְּחִלָּה בְּפָרָשַת שְׁקָלִים, גּוֹמְרִים, וְהַמַּפְטִיר קוֹרֵא בְּשֶׁל רֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ, וּמַפְטִיר גַּם כֵּן הַפְטָרַת שַׁבָּת וְרֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ
