Halocho #1073 - Shabbat food preparation
The Minhag is to bake one's own bread for Shabbos, thereby allowing the housewife to separate "Challah".
One should make 3 sizes: The medium sized loaf is eaten Friday night, the bigger one on Shabbat morning and the smaller one at the 3rd meal (Se'udat Shlishit).
One should taste all Shabbat food on Friday to ensure it's tasty.
One may not eat a meal after mid-afternoon on Friday, so as not to spoil one's appetite for the Friday night meal.

Halocho #346 - Can a husband separate Challa?
In Parshat Shlach (the Torah Reading this week in Israel, next week in the Diaspora) we learn about the Mitzva of separating Challa from dough made from any of the 5 types of grain: wheat, barley, oats, spelt or rye.
Challa should be separated before the dough is baked; one may not eat the dough before separating Challa.
If Challa was not separated before the dough is baked, then the baked goods are forbidden to be eaten until Challa is separated from them.
The Mitzva of separating Challa rightfully belongs to the housewife.
However, if waiting for the housewife would cause the dough to spoil, then anybody above Bar/Bat Mitzva may separate Challa.
The piece of Challa that was separated should be burnt.

Since nowadays we don't have fires readily available, my Rabbi suggested we freeze the Challa (in a well marked container that nobody should eat from it) and whenever there's a bonfire (Lag B'Omer and Erev Pessach) we should burn the accumulated Challa.
Shabbat Shalom,

Halocho #335 - Everybody has to do Eruv Tavshilin on Erev Shavu'ot
One may not prepare from Yom Tov to Shabbat unless one does Eruv Tavshilin before Yom Tov. Since the first day of Shavu'oth is on Friday, everybody needs to do Eruv Tavshilin on Thursday.

Halocho #204 - 3 meals; 6 loaves
Everybody has an obligation to eat 3 meals on Shabbat; one on Friday night, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. This is besides for the Melave Malka that is eaten on Motzai Shabbat. At each of the three Shabbat meals one should make Motzi on 2 complete loaves of bread. Kiddush is only said twice; at the first 2 meals. One should not overeat at Shabbat morning lunch -especially during the short winter days - so that one can eat a proper afternoon meal. In case of need one can eat cake at the 3rd meal instead of bread. If that's not possible then fish or meat. At the very least one should have some fruit. Halocho #166 - Honoring Yom Tov
There's a Mitzva to honor each Yom Tov - Jewish Festival.
This Mitzva if fulfilled by:
- Getting a haircut before Yom Tov
- Having a warm shower/bath on Erev Yom Tov
- Baking fresh bread for Yom Tov
- Not eating on Erev Yom Tov afternoon so as not to spoil ones appetite for the evening meal. The details depend on each person's metabolism, but after mid-afternoon nobody may eat a meal (with bread). Even the first day of Yom Tov is considered "Erev Yom Tov" of the second day, in this regard.
- Ones Yom Tov clothes should be more expensive than ones Shabbat clothes.

Halocho #54 - Last minute Shabbos preparations
Close to candle-lighting time one should ensure that Challa has been separated from the loaves to be used during Shabbos, and then one should announce that it's Candle Lighting Time. All this should be done calmly and pleasantly. Before leaving the house on Friday afternoon, one should check ones pockets to make sure they don’t contain objects that are Muktza. In places without an Eruv - where carrying is forbidden - one must ensure one pockets are empty every time one wants to step outside. Source: KSA 72:22-23.
