Halocho #2409 - Last minute Shabbos preparations

Close to candle-lighting time one should ensure that Challa has been separated from the loaves to be used during Shabbat, and then one should announce that it's Candle Lighting Time. All this should be done calmly and pleasantly.

Before leaving the house on Friday afternoon, one should check one's pockets to make sure they don’t contain objects that are Muktza.

In places without an Eruv - where carrying is forbidden - one must ensure one's pockets are empty every time one wants to step outside.

Shabbat Shalom,

Halocho #1036 - Shabbat clothes

One should make an effort to have nicer clothes for Shabbos - including a nicer Tallit.

Even if one is spending Shabbat in solitude one should wear Shabbat clothes, since wearing nice Shabbat clothes is done to honor the Shabbat.

Before Shabbat comes in one needs to check one's pockets for Muktza items, and if there's no Eruv (and one can’t carry outside) to ensure they're empty.

Halocho #993 - No fresh fruit on Shabbat

Fruit that was picked on Shabbat may not be eaten on that Shabbat - even if a non-Jew picked it for himself.

Even fruit that is lying under a tree is forbidden, since it may have fallen off on Shabbat.

Such fruit is Muktza and may not even be moved, until after Shabbat.

Halocho #678 - Trees on Shabbat

Moving objects that are Muktza is not allowed on Shabbat. One may touch Muktza on Shabbat if it will not move.

However, one may not use a tree on Shabbat even if it is solid and will not move; one may not climb on it, nor hang from it.

One may not hang things onto trees on Shabbat, nor remove items hanging on trees.

One may not tie an animal by its leash to a tree on Shabbat.
