Halocho #2150 - May one fast on Rosh Chodesh?

The 2 days of Rosh Chodesh Marcheshvan begins tonight - Monday night.

Rosh Chodesh Marcheshvan is on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It’s a Mitzvah to eat a bigger meal on Rosh Chodesh. 

One is permitted to do work on Rosh Chodesh, but one may not fast nor say eulogies. 

The Yom Kippur Kattan service is not said in anticipation of Rosh Chodesh Marcheshvan as we're still the joyous month of Tishrei.

מִצְוָה לְהַרְבּוֹת בִּסְעוּדָה בְּרֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ. וְאִם חָל בַּשַׁבָּת, יַעֲשֶׂה תַּבְשִׁיל אֶחָד יוֹתֵר מִבִּשְׁאָר שַׁבָּתוֹת.
